What to Check When Your First Garment Sample Arrives

Review fit, measurements and finishing with a consistent checklist, then send clear, actionable sample comments.

01

Check against the brief

Compare the sample with the latest specification and note the sample reference. Check fabric, color, trims, labels and the requested construction before evaluating fit.

02

Record measurements and fit

Measure at the agreed points and photograph the garment on an appropriate fit model when possible. Distinguish a measurement discrepancy from a requested design change.

03

Consolidate feedback

Send one marked-up set of comments with photographs, requested changes and unresolved questions. Confirm whether another sample is needed before bulk approval. Keep a record of the final approved version.
